HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 8 Dartmouth women’s squash team opened the 2013-14 season on Tuesday evening with an Ivy League contest versus top-ranked Harvard at the Berry Squash Courts.

The Big Green fell to the visiting Crimson, 9-0, as freshman Jacqueline Barnes made her collegiate debut. Playing at the No. 1 spot, Barnes lost in three to Harvard’s Amanda Sobhy.

Harvard took six of the matches in three games as a trio of Dartmouth players forced a fourth game.

At the No. 3 spot, Melina Turk battled Sauma Karki. Karki took the opening game, 11-7, but Turk responded with an impressive 11-9 win in game two. In the final two games, Karki outlasted Turk winning each, 11-8 and 11-6, respectively.
