INDIANAPOLIS – Dartmouth senior Abbey D'Agostino continues to pick up the accolades following her 2013 NCAA Cross Country National Championship on Saturday in Indiana.

It was announced Wednesday afternoon that D’Agostino has been tabbed as the USA Track & Field Athlete of the Week after claiming the individual cross country crown in the muddy conditions of Terre Haute’s LaVern Gibson 6K Championship Course on Nov. 23.

In the last two weeks alone, D’Agostino has been named both the 2013 National and Northeast Regional Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The honors have been rolling in since she capped her perfect season by becoming the Ivy League’s most decorated student-athlete in history dating back to 1883 with the conference’s first-ever cross country title by either a male or female runner.

The USA Track & Field accolade is the first in the Topsfield, Mass., native’s collegiate career.

The weekly honor is not reserved specifically for collegiate competitors and is presented to professional as well as amateur athletes. Former Big Green All-American standout Ben True ’08 also received the distinction on Mar. 27 after finishing sixth at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Poland.
