CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Dartmouth sailing team was rewarded for its success on the water this past weekend as a quartet of sailors earned NEISA weekly honors.

Matt Wefer and Avery Plough were named Coed Sailors of the Week after winning A-Division at the Erwin Schell Trophy while Deirdre Lambert and Carissa Crawford were tabbed Women’s Sailors of the Week after their impressive performance in winning the A-Division at the Victorian Urn.

Wefer and Plough were impressive in a difficult A-division in light and shifty conditions, finishing in the top-five in seven of nine races, and winning their division by five points.  The duo won two of the nine races as their performance led the Big Green to the overall victory at the NEISA Fall Championship for the 73rd Schell Trophy.

Lambert and Crawford finished in the top-four in every race and accumulated just 21 points over seven races in very light and shifty conditions on the Charles River. Their performance led the Big Green to second overall and the top finishing NEISA team in the 18-team event.

This past weekend, the Dartmouth also qualified for the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship to be held Nov. 16-17 at the College of Charleston and the Atlantic Coast Women’s Championship, Nov. 16-17, at Cornell.
