Women's Tennis Ends Big Green Invitational with Seven Wins

HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team concluded the Big Green Invitational on Sunday, going 7-1 in singles action versus Boston University inside the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion.

Overall, the Big Green ended their fall season in style, going 27-5 during the three-day event. Today's results showed the team's progress since last year, as the Terriers ended 2013 ranked No. 7 in the Northeast Region while the Big Green were ranked No. 9.

Taylor Ng and Sarah Bessen won decisively, 6-0, 6-1, and 6-0, 6-0, respectively, while Jacqueline Crawford defeated the Northeast Region's No. 15-ranked player Lauren Davis 6-2, 6-3.

Captain Melissa Matsuoka and Julienne Keong Si Ying also won handily, dropping just three games total. Matsuoka and Bessen were 3-0 in singles for the weekend, while Ng and Crawford were 2-0.

The team will be back in action at its annual pro-am event on Sunday, Jan. 12.
