MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Dartmouth men’s tennis team had a good showing on the first day of the Gopher Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Friday, going 7-2 in singles action and 2-2 in doubles play.
In singles action, Chris Kipouras scored a come-from-behind win in Flight 1 while Erik Nordahl and Brandon DeBot each netted straight set wins in Flight 2. In Flight 3, the Big Green went 3-0 as Brendan Tannenbaum and George Wall won in two sets while Diego Pedraza held off Jeremy Lynn for a three-set triumph. Cameron Ghorbani topped Tucker Saxon of Minnesota, 6-4, 6-0, in Flight 4.
In doubles play, Dartmouth went 2-0 in Flight 2 as the tandems of Sam Todd/Nordahl and Kipouras/Pedraza cruised to 8-2 and 8-3 victories, respectively.
The Big Green continue the event on Saturday, Nov. 2.
