PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth women’s soccer senior Emma Brush was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team, as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday, October 31.

This is the second consecutive year for Brush on the All-District team. Brush is now eligible for the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team All-America honorees will be selected later in November.


A tri-captain this season, Brush, an English major with a 3.81 grade point average, is currently averaging a point-per-game this season with the Big Green. With two games remaining in the season, Brush has 15 points on six goals and three assists in 14 games. Tied for fifth in the Ivy League in points and sixth in goals, Brush is just one goal, two assists and four points away from tying her career-highs set last season.

Brush is one of six Ivy League players to earn spots on the All-District team. She joins two-time recipient Alison Mullin from Brown and Yale recipients Muriel Battaglia and Fannie Coxe on the District 1 team. Claire Walker and Kathryn Barth represent Penn on the District 2 team.

The Capital One Academic All-District teams are comprised of the nation’s top student-athletes both in the classroom and on the playing field. The teams are divided into eight geographical districts across the United States and Canada. This is the second year of the expanded program, which has doubled the number of scholar-athletes recognized.

In January 2011, Capital One partnered with the College Sports Information Directors of America to become the named sponsor of this illustrious and historic award program. Dartmouth will to try and keep the its postseason hopes alive, when they travel to Harvard on Saturday afternoon. A win by the Crimson will clinch the Ivy League title. Kickoff is set for noon.
