Steve Cunha begins his second year at Dartmouth in 2013-14, joining the Big Green Athletic Department in January of 2013.
In his first year at Dartmouth, Cunha worked as the main contact for the women’s hockey, men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, sailing and men’s and women’s squash. This year he is also working with the Big Green women’s volleyball team.
Prior to Dartmouth, Cunha was a Sports Information Assistant at UMass Dartmouth and the Assistant Director for Sports Communications at North Georgia. At UMD, he was second in command of the sports information office serving as the primary media contact for half of the 23 varsity sports. During his tenure at UNG, wrote preview stories and game day recaps for many of the school’s eleven varsity sports while serving as the main contact for women’s basketball and baseball.
Cunha completed his Bachelor’s degree in Communication-Media Studies with a minor in Sports Management in May 2009 from the Salve Regina University. While at Salve, Cunha was an assistant in the Sports Information office for a year. There he worked closely in the department with all Seahawks athletics and was the media contact for the men’s and women’s cross country teams as well as field hockey.
Cunha is a current member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
