PRINCETON, N.J.  –  Freshman James Hickok of the Dartmouth men’s soccer team was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after securing two wins this week for the Big Green, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

After allowing a pair of early goals on Monday, Hickok settled in to help Dartmouth earn its first win of the season, a 3-2 overtime victory over Boston College.

On Sunday, Hickok recorded his team’s second straight shutout and his first collegiate clean sheet in a 2-0 win over UMass. Hickok even had a hand on the offensive end, when his long punt was converted into an assist.

Hickok is the first Dartmouth player to earn rookie weekly honors since Sean Donovan almost exactly four years ago -- September 14, 2009.

This season, Hickok has made eight saves with a .800 save percentage in 194 minutes on the pitch.

Hickok and the Big Green will travel to South Carolina for a meeting with Kentucky and the Gamecocks this weekend before returning home for a three-game stand.
