Jessica Drummond was named Dartmouth's assistant coach in August, 2013 and completed her second season with the Big Green with the conclusion of the 2015 regular season.
In her two seasons on the Big Green's sidelines, the team is 9-19 overall and 6-8 in league games.
Drummond, a Nashua, N.H., native, comes to Hanover after a four-year playing career with the Oregon Ducks that wrapped up in 2012. She remained with her alma mater during the 2013 season as well, serving as an undergraduate assistant coach working with the full-time staff on daily tasks associated with practices and game management.
A team-oriented player, Drummond left Oregon ranked fourth in program history in career draw controls and fifth in ground balls. Her ability to contribute all over the field in her time in Eugene twice earned her the team’s “Hardest Worker” award as voted on by players and coaches.
In 2012, Drummond was part of a Ducks team that claimed the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament Play-In Game, capping off the best season in program history.
For her part in helping to grow lacrosse at Oregon, Drummond was tabbed as an MPSF All-Second Team honoree in three straight seasons (2010-12). Those three years also saw Drummond claim a spot on the league’s all-tournament team.
No stranger to coaching experience, Drummond was the co-founder of the Great Lakes Elite Women’s Lacrosse Travel Team (U15 and U18) in Michigan, serving as the director and head coach between 2010 and 2011 as well. There, she prepared prospective collegiate student-athletes for the college recruitment process in addition to duties on the field.
"I had the honor of having Jess as my coach for two seasons and she is a rockstar. She brings so much energy and enthusiasm to to our team every day. When Jess plays in practice, she always brings her competitive spirit and challenges all of us to play at a level we never thought we could. She has become a backbone to our defensive unit and really knows how to motivate and unify the defense. Her experience as a recent collegiate player is unparalleled and her addition to the Dartmouth Lacrosse family has been tremendous. Jess truly embodies what Dartmouth Lacrosse is all about and I feel so privileged to have had her as a coach for my junior and senior year.” - Jessica Frieder ’15
