HANOVER, N.H.- A trio of Dartmouth women’s hockey alums have declared for the 2013 Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) draft as Reagan Fischer ’13, Sasha Nanji ’13 and Margaux Sharp ’13 are looking to make the next step in their hockey careers.

Players whose rights are not held by a CWHL team were eligible to register for the 2013 CWHL Player Signing Draft prior to Aug. 20. As part of the registration process, each prospective player indicated the CWHL city or cities in which they are willing to play.

During their time with the Big Green the trio produced 240 points on 95 goals and 145 assists.

Fischer was a two-time captain for head coach Mark Hudak, leading the team on and off the ice. In 2012-13, she tied for a team-best 15 goals and 28 points. The Irma, Alberta, native left Hanover ranked No. 25 with 113 career points (51g-62a) on the all-time scoring list for Dartmouth.

Nanji anchored the blue line during her tenure in the Upper Valley. The Markham, Ontario, native was the top-scoring defenseman for the Big Green each of her four years on campus. This past season, Nanji tallied seven markers with 10 helpers. She departed Dartmouth tied for third on the all-time goals list for defensemen with 39 and eighth in assists with 51.

In 110 career games for Dartmouth, Sharp potted five goals and added 32 assists. During her senior season, she had six helpers while appearing in 18 contests.  The Carleton Place, Ontario, native had one game-winning goal and four power-play tallies during her time on the squad.

The Canadian Women's Hockey League is the premier women's hockey league in the world. The CWHL is a centrally funded league, meaning that all participating teams in the CWHL receive equal access to funding and are given the same opportunities to succeed. Every dollar goes toward building a league that is dedicated to raising the profile of women's hockey while providing a place where the best female hockey players in the world can come to train and compete.

The 2013 CWHL Signing Draft will be held on Aug. 26. At the conclusion of the 2013 Draft, the CWHL will announce the complete list of prospective players for each CWHL team.
