HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men’s and women’s basketball teams along with the Dartmouth chapter of the NAACP will host a 3 vs. 3 Basketball Challenge at Leede Arena on Saturday (May 25). The event, open to Dartmouth students, will benefit the Upper Valley Haven and also a scholarship fund for a high school senior in the Upper Valley.

The idea for the event came from head men’s basketball coach Paul Cormier, who thought the event would serve as a way to unite the Dartmouth campus and raise some funds for the Upper Valley Haven. The event expanded when men’s basketball manager, Emmanuel Blankson ’15 mentioned that the Dartmouth NAACP chapter was doing a similar event and the pair decided to combine the events.

The Challenge, which will begin at 11 a.m., will feature 32 teams and will be in tournament format. Each team can have up to five players but must include at least two males and two females. Cost is $5 per person and each participant will receive a t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
