PRINCETON, N.J. –Dartmouth heavyweight rower junior Brendon Stoner (Sudbury, Mass.) has been selected to participate in the USRowing Under-23 National Team selection camp this summer it was recently announced.

Stoner joins lightweight rower Josh Konieczny (Milbury, Ohio) as members of the Dartmouth men’s crew teams to participate in USRowing selection camps this summer.

A member of the Big Green’s first varsity eight, Stoner most recently helped the Big Green to the Packard Cup with a thrilling win over Syracuse in its last outing.  Stoner is one of 20 athletes, including 10 from the Ivy League, to participate in the national selection camp.

The camp will select the men’s eight and four crews that will compete at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships July 24-28 in Linz, Austria. In addition, the camp may select the men’s four with coxswain that will compete at the USRowing Under 23 National Team Trials June 23-26 in West Windsor, N.J. A full team roster will be named by July 10.

The camp, to be held at Brown University’s Marston Boathouse, will be coached by Paul Cooke, Brown University Men’s Crew Head Coach, and Matt Smith, Cornell University Associate Head Coach.

The U.S. won three medals at the 2012 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania, including gold in the men’s and women’s eights and silver in the men’s four with coxswain.
