HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth volleyball team has announced its upcoming spring competition schedule and clinics, highlighted by hosting an eight- team tournament this Saturday, April 13.
The Dartmouth Spring Tourney boasts a competitive field with the Big Green set to face Springfield, UMass Lowell, Franklin Pierce, American International and Stonehill. The complete schedule of events can be found below.
After the tournament, Dartmouth welcomes ACC-foe Boston College into Leede Arena later in the month. The April 25 showdown between the Eagles and the Big Green is the spring finale for the team from the Upper Valley.
"Spring volleyball is about getting stronger, faster, jumping higher and working on becoming better volleyball players,” Dartmouth head coach Erin Lindsey said. “I have been really excited about the work ethic the team has been bringing to the gym and in the weight room.
“We are really focused on improving not only individually, but also setting a higher standard for the team when we train,” Lindsey added.
“This weekend will be a great measuring stick for what we have already accomplished and where we need to go with the second half of the spring season. Finishing up with Boston College later in the month will be a good test to see where we stand and what holes we may need to fill for the fall," the second-year head coach continued.
Lindsey has also announced that the Dartmouth Volleyball players will be hosting two clinics open to kids ages 5 – 18 at Leede Arena from 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 28 and Sunday, May 5. Registration will begin at 3:00 PM, $20 per attendee will be collected at the door. Checks can be made to Friends of Dartmouth Volleyball. With any questions or pre-registration the team asks you contact assistant coach Andi Bentley, Andrea.M.Bentley@Dartmouth.edu, via email.
“It is really important to our program that we get out into the community to share why we all love the sport of volleyball so much,” Lindsey said. “Our players do not get a lot of opportunities to interact with kids in the area and these clinics not only help us support our program but also allow us to develop personal relationships with our fans.”
