PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth men’s outdoor track & field team opened the first day of competition at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton’s Weaver Stadium Friday evening.

Tim Gorman claimed second in the 1500m with a 3:53.69, the fastest time by an attached collegiate runner. John Bleday was 23rd with a 3:57.57 in the event.

The hammer throw saw TJ Servino take second overall and the top placement by a collegiate student-athlete with a toss of 194-9.0/59.35m.

In the 5000m, the Big Green had several runners earn top showings, led by Will Geoghegan with a third-place overall finish in 14:16.04. Phil Royer (5th, 14:21.45), Henry Sterling (9th, 14:26.71) and Curtis King (11th, 14:30. 54) all had impressive times in the event as well with King taking the top spot in the second flight.

Dom Filiano was 11th in the discus with a measured toss of 144-0.0/43.89 on his third attempt of the day.

The Big Green are back in action Saturday in Vermont at the Catamount Open.
