LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team closed out its California spring trip on Saturday afternoon, falling, 6-1, to Loyola Marymount at the LMU Tennis Center.

The Big Green (7-4) dropped their second straight, while the Lions (7-5) won their fourth in a row.

In doubles action, the Lions took two of three from the Green and the White. Sarah Bessen and Melissa Matsuoka earned a victory for Dartmouth taking their match at No. 2, 8-5.

In singles action, freshman Katherine Yau was the lone member of the Big Green to win her match. Yau defeated Claudia Razzeto, 7-6, 6-1, at No. 2. The match was closer than the final score indicates as senior tri-captain Sarah Leonard, Matsuoka, and freshman Suzy Tan all fell in three sets.

Dartmouth returns to action on April 5 traveling to New York to square off with Ivy League rival Cornell on the fifth stop on its six-match road trip. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
