HANOVER, N.H. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFCHA) announced its 2012 Division I National Academic Team and Squad Awards earlier this week.

Dartmouth was one of 70 programs to post a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2012-13 academic year. That cumulative success in the classroom while in season helped the Big Green earn an Academic Team Award for the fourth year in a row as announced Monday.

Tuesday saw the NFHCA announce its 2012 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad which featured nine members of the Green from this past fall.

To qualify for the academic squad, an individual must carry a GPA of 3.3 or higher during the fall season.

Seniors Liz Blanken and Lisa Masini were honored with spots on the list for the fourth time in their careers, meeting the criteria for selection in every season while at Dartmouth

Juniors Olivia Quaglia, Maggie Scanlon and Victoria Tersigni, as well as sophomores Janine Leger and Ali Savage and freshmen Eliza Becker and Brooke Van Valkenburg also were tabbed as honorees for their work in the classroom.
