Four Players Compete in CSA Individual Championships for Men's Squash

HARTFORD, CONN. - The Dartmouth men's squash team had four players compete on day one of the CSA Individual Championships on Friday.

In the Pool Division, Chris Hanson came through his first match of the day with a 3-0 (11-9, 11-6, 11-5) victory over Cornell's Owen Butler. In the second round, Hanson fell to Tyler Osborne of Princeton, 3-0 (13-11, 11-7, 14-11). The Greenwich, Conn., native plays Brandon McLaughlin in the second round consolation match Saturday, March 2.

The Big Green had three players compete in the Molloy Division in senior Robbie Maycock, freshman Alexander Greer and junior Chris Jung.

Maycock scored a come-from-behind 3-1 victory against Jay Dolan of Middlebury.  After dropping the first game 11-3, Maycock rallied to take the next three games 11-4, 11-9 and 11-1 to advance to the round of 16. In the next round, Maycock will take on Andrew Hilboldt of Bowdoin.

Greer also notched a come-from-behind triumph against Trinity's Matthew Mackin. Mackin took the first game 15-13, before Greer won the next three, 11-4, 13-11, and 11-3 to advance. The Berwyn, Pa., native lost his second round match versus Vivek Dinodia of Princeton 3-1 (6-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-7). Greer plays Franklin & Marshall's Alexander Arjoon in the second round consolation match Saturday.

Jung lost a hard fought battle to Aditya Advani of Tufts 3-2 (11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8). Jung won the second and fourth games, but Advani took the fifth game to move on. Jung won his next match 3-0 (11-3, 11-5, 11-0) against Vassar's Jacob Harris and he plays NYU's James Hill in the first round consolation quarterfinals on Saturday.
