ITHACA, N.Y. - The sixth-seeded Dartmouth men's tennis team lost its opening round match of the ECAC Championship on Friday against Princeton, 4-1.
The championship is hosted by Cornell and is being contested at the Reis Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Big Green fall to 3-4, while the Tigers, the third seed, improve to 3-1.
The lone point earner for the Big Green was Chris Kipouras. Kipouras topped Augie Bloom in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, in No. 3 singles action.
Erik Nordahl was leading Matt Spindler, 6-4, 5-3, when the Tigers clinched the match-winning point.
In doubles action, Brendan Tannenbaum and Cameron Ghorbani were leading their match, 6-5, when Princeton sealed its victory.
Dartmouth continues the tournament Feb. 16, playing the loser of the Columbia - George Washington contest.
