KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Sophomore Alex Adelabu (Houston, Texas) of the Dartmouth men's soccer team picked up his first career All-Northeast Region selection as announced on Monday (Dec. 10) by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Adelabu's selection marks the eighth consecutive season the Big Green have had a player earn a spot on the all-region team.

Adelabu is coming off an outstanding 2012 season in which he earned first-team All-Ivy League honors. The Texas native also earned College Sports Madness accolades twice throughout the season.

Adelabu led the Big Green offense in 2012. The sophomore forward tallied a team-best nine goals and added three assists for 21 total points. He ranked second in the Ivy League in goals per game (0.56), points per game (1.31), points (21) and goals (9). He was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Week, taking home the honor after scoring each of Dartmouth's goals in a loss to then-No. 7 New Mexico and a win over Missouri State, and again earned the honor after scoring a pair in a win over Harvard. Adelabu was also ranked in the top-50 in two categories in the final NCAA regular-season rankings. He was 41st in goals per game and 48th in goals.

The Big Green concluded the 2012 season with a 9-7-0, 5-2-0 Ivy League record, good for second place in the league standings. Dartmouth also completed its second consecutive undefeated Ivy League home slate, boasting a 4-0 record at Burnham Field.
