HANOVER, N.H. — In their first home tournament of the fall season, the Dartmouth men's tennis team posted a solid effort at the Dartmouth Shootout. The Big Green went 18-2 in singles action and 8-2 in doubles on the weekend.

The Dartmouth squad had finalists in three flights during Sunday's final day of action. Erik Nordahl and teammate Xander Centenari advanced to the Flight 1a singles finals. The two played a close match for the championship, with Nordahl coming away with the narrow victory (3-6, 6-2, 7-6).

Three other Big Green players — Cameron Ghorbani, Sam Todd and Brendan Tannenbaum — advanced to the finals of their respective flights, but none of the three championships were played. Todd won an additional match, however, facing Tannenbaum in lieu of a finals match.

Additionally, Dartmouth freshman Justin Chan won Flight #4 singles, defeating Middlebury's Lunghino (7-5, 7-6).

In doubles action, Tannenbaum and Chan combined for an 8-3 victory over Stony Brook in Flight #2 doubles.

The Big Green returns to action Oct. 18-23 for the ITA Northeast Regionals at New Haven, Conn.
