Emmett Rutkowski

Emmett Rutkowski joined the Dartmouth staff as Director of Operations in 2012 and also serves as goalkeeping coach.

In his first season at the helm of the Big Green goalkeepers, starting goalkeeper Noah Cohen posted an 8-7-0 record with two shutouts. The South African native also earned Ivy League Player of the Week accolades on Oct. 10 for back-to-back wins over Vermont and Yale. Additionally, Rutkowski helped spear the Big Green to a 9-7-0, 5-2-0 Ivy League record, which included an undefeated mark at Burnham Field.

 

Rutkowski comes to Dartmouth after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Frostburg State in Maryland. During his time with the Bobcats, the team improved from 4-10-3 in his first season to 11-3-5 in the second year. The Bobcats reached the Capital Area Conference (CAC) semifinals and participated in the ECAC postseason tournament in 2011. In his two years at Frostburg State, Rutkowski mentored three All-CAC players as well as the 2011 CAC Player of the Year in Ryan Russell.

A goalkeeper by trade, Rutkowski spent time playing in the Premier Developmental League (PDL) with the Fredericksburg Hotspurs as well as the F.C. Fredericksburg Gunners. Rutkowski also has experience with the Premier Arena Soccer with the Fredericksburg Generals.

Rutkowski was a four-year letterwinner at University of Mary Washington from 2006-10.  A three-year starting goalkeeper, Rutkowski earned first-team All-Conference and All-Region honors and was team MVP and captain during his senior season.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Rutkowski served as the head junior varsity coach at Chancellor High School in Spotsylvania, Va., and has also coached and trained youth players in Virginia at numerous camps.

Rutkowski holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National B License and has a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Goalkeeping Level Two Diploma. He is also a member of the USSF and the NSCAA.Rutkowski also earned his Masters of Education from Frsotburg State in the spring of 2012.
