BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The 57th-ranked Dartmouth men's tennis team improved to 9-1 on Friday when it earned a 7-0 victory at Binghamton. The loss dropped the Bearcats to 5-6.

The Big Green took two of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Sophomore Brandon DeBot (Stevens Point, Wis.) and Cameron Ghorbani (Lexington, Mass.) won at second double, 8-1. The duo of freshman Chris Kipouras (San Ramon, Calif.) and junior Alex de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) earned an 8-4 win at third doubles.

Dartmouth swept all six singles matches with only one going to a supertiebreaker for a third set. Senior Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) defeated Ruben Devos, 7-5, 7-5, at the top spot. At second singles, junior Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) beat Alexandre Haggai, 7-6, 6-1. In the third position, Kipouras defeated Robin Lesage, 6-3, 7-5. DeBot won at fourth singles, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4), over Ismael Dinia. At fifth singles, senior Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) bested Ruben Haggai, 6-3, 6-4. Round out the scoring for the Big Green was freshman Sam Todd (Encinitas, Calif.) earning a 6-4, 6-3 victory at sixth singles over Rafael Rodrigues.

The Big Green gets back to the courts on Sunday, March 4, morning at 8 a.m. against Illinois State.
