HANOVER, N.H. —The Dartmouth men's tennis team improved to 4-0 after a 6-1 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday. It marked the Big Green's first home match of the season. The loss was the Seawolves first dual match of the year.
Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead in the contest after winning two of the three doubles matches. Senior Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) and junior Alex de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) won at first doubles, 8-3, and junior Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) and senior Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) won at third doubles, 8-2.
Stony Brook tied the score by winning at first singles, but the Big Green won the other five singles matches to earn the victory. The clinching match came at second singles when Laser won 6-3, 6-3 over Francis Bertrand to give Dartmouth its fourth point.
The Big Green returns to action on Sunday when they host Army at 10 a.m.
