HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's tennis team earned an easy home victory on Sunday by defeating Army, 7-0, at the Boss Tennis Center. The win improved the Big Green to 5-0, while the loss dropped the Black Knights to 0-2.
The match started with the three doubles contests and Dartmouth earned the point by sweeping all three. Junior Xander Centenari (Towson, Md.) and senior Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) had the easiest match at second doubles with an 8-1 win.
In the singles matches, the Big Green claimed all six, including four wins in straight sets. Senior Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) won at second singles, 6-2, 6-2. At the No. 3 spot, sophomore Brandon DeBot (Stevens Point, Wis.) defeated Alex Holland, 6-3, 6-0. Ho won at fourth singles over Rommel Verano, 6-3, 6-1. Junior Alex de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) was the other Dartmouth player to win in straight sets with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Peter Sienko.
The Big Green hosts Marquette next Sunday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m.
