Danielle Kerr is one of Dartmouth's top swimmers and is the school record holder in the 200-butterfly (1:59.88) and the 400 Individual medley (4:25.33). This season, she had been dominating the competition in the distance events. So far, she has won the 1000 meter free against Cornell, Brown and Penn and claimed a victory in the 1650 free against Vermont. In her win in the 1650 at Vermont she set a new Forbush Natatorium record with a time of 17:13.33, besting the previous record nearly 30 seconds. The Dartmouth women's squad is back in action on Saturday when they host Granite State rival, Nw Hampshire at Karl Michael Pool at 1 p.m.
Filiano has come back from a back injury that limited him as a freshman last year to be one of the top throwers in the Ivy League this season. This past weekend at the team's quad meet with RPI, Maine and Vermont, the sophomore won the shot put with a mark of 51-11.75/15.84m. It was the second time in as many weeks that Filiano won the event after also taking first in the season-opening Dartmouth Relays six days prior. Filiano was also second in the weight throw, recording a mark of 47-3.75/14.42m at the quad meet on Saturday afternoon.
