Athletes of the Week - Morris & Foley
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Kelly Foley (South Boston, Mass.), Women's Hockey, Sr., F
Before the start of 2012, senior Kelly Foley (South Boston, Mass.) helped the Dartmouth women's hockey team improve its record to 6-5-1 after a victory at New Hampshire on Dec. 11. She recorded two goals and an assist against the Wildcats, after scoring the team's lone goal against Harvard on Nov. 30. On the season, she leads the team in points with 15 and goals with 10. The Big Green are currently in a stretch of four games in 10 days, which includes the outdoor game at Fenway Park on Jan. 10 as part of Frozen Fenway 2012.
Cab Morris (Wilmette, Ill.), So., Goalkeeper, Men's Hockey
After having made just one start in his first season with the Big Green, December was a breakout month for the sophomore goaltender as Morris was named the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Month. For his play this past weekend at the 2011 Ledyard Classic, Morris was also honored as the league's Goalie of the Week for his 1-0-1 mark in the annual event. His 55 saves over the weekend, including a career-high 30 against Holy Cross, also helped him earn all-tournament team honors. For the month of December, Morris was 2-0-1, while posting a 1.62 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage.
