HANOVER, N.H. — The athletics departments of Dartmouth College and the University of New Hampshire announced the resumption of their scheduled football series, which has two games remaining in the contract. The Big Green will travel to UNH for a game on Sept. 27, 2014, and the Wildcats will return to Hanover for Dartmouth’s season opener on Sept. 17, 2016. The two teams last met on the gridiron in the 2009 season in Durham.

Dartmouth, which began spring practice last week, is coming off a 6-4 season in 2010, its first winning campaign in 13 years. Among the returning players this fall will be rising senior Nick Schwieger, the co-winner of the Ivy League’s Bushnell Cup after leading the league in rushing with 1,133 yards, the second most in Big Green history. Rising senior Shawn Abuhoff, an All-America return specialist and All-Ivy cornerback, will roam the field once again as well, along with seven other All-Ivy honorees.

The 2011 season opener takes place in Hanover at Memorial Field on Sept. 17 when Colgate comes to town.
