HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men’s tennis team will travel to New Jersey for the 2017 ECAC Men’s Indoor Tennis Championship, which will take place at Princeton’s Jadwin Gym’s indoor courts from Friday through Sunday, Feb. 17-19.
The tournament features seven Ivy League competitors (Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn Princeton and Yale) and St. John’s as the only non-conference opponent. The schedule and seeds are as follows:
Friday, Feb. 17
Penn (4) vs. Dartmouth (5) – 9 a.m.
Columbia (1) vs. St. John’s (8) – 12 p.m.
Cornell (2) vs. Yale (7) – 3 p.m.
Princeton (3) vs. Harvard (6) – 6 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 18
Penn/Dartmouth loser vs. Columbia /St. John’s loser – 9 a.m.
Penn/Dartmouth winner vs. Columbia/St. John’s winner – 12 p.m.
Cornell/Yale winner vs. Princeton/Harvard winner – 3p.m.
Cornell/Yale loser vs. Princeton/Harvard loser – 6 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 19
7th-place match – 8 a.m.
3rd-place match – 10 a.m.
1st-place match – 1 p.m.
5th-place match – 4p.m.
The Big Green enter the weekend with a record of 2-4 on the young season. They opened with four consecutive home matches, going 2-2, defeating Bryant (6-1) and Binghamton (7-0), while falling to Indiana and South Carolina, both by scores of 6-1. Dartmouth hit the road for the first time in 2017 the following weekend, dropping matches to Minnesota and Iowa by scores of 4-3. The Green were scheduled to host nationally ranked TCU and SMU the next weekend, but both matches were canceled due to snow.
