PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Marina Moschitto was named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week after she scored three goals in two games, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Moschitto shares the award with Harvard freshman Joan Fleischman, who was also named Rookie of the Week.
The Dartmouth forward scored the lone goal in a, 2-0, win over the Brown last Tuesday in non-conference play. Scoreless with 21:16 remaining in the contest, Moschitto was attempting to send a basic cross from the left side of the field, when a defender tried to clear the ball, but an errant kick sent the ball inside the net for an own goal to give Dartmouth a 1-0 lead.
Ten minutes later, with 11:11 left, the Big Green got their wish granted when sophomore Corey Delaney sent a perfectly timed corner kick onto the head of Moschitto for the first official goal of the game.
Trailing, 1-0, on Saturday against Columbia, Moschitto scored her first goal of the day after a perfectly timed chip by freshman Hayley Snyder found the forwards head. The senior then added her second tally with ten minutes remaining in the contest off a pass from freshman Jessica Lukas.
Through 64 career games, Moschitto has 12 goals and six assists for 30 points. This was the first weekly award for Moschitto and the second for the Big Green this season. Junior Tatiana Saunders was named Co-Player of the Week on September 23.
Moschitto and the Big Green will face Fleischman and the Crimson on Saturday at noon in Cambridge, Mass.
