Last week, the Big Green tied Vermont (1-1, 2OT) and fell to Princeton (2-1) to open Ivy League play.
All-Time Series —
Yale leads the all-time series over Dartmouth, 38-32-6. In last season’s contest at Dartmouth on October 8, the Big Green prevailed 1-0.
Princeton Review —
A pair of second-half goals by the Tigers led to the first loss of the season for the Big Green. After taking a 1-0 lead in the opening frame, on a tally by junior Alex Adelabu, the Big Green allowed Princeton back into the contest. The visitors tied the contest after Dartmouth blocked a shot inside the box allowing a rebound to score. Seven minutes later, Princeton took the lead off a header that was redirected.
Yale Scout —
The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 2-7 record overall, but are 1-0 in the league. Earlier in the season, Yale dropped five consecutive games before defeating Harvard 2-1 in the Ivy opener. Peter Jacobson leads the team with nine points and four goals. Cameron Kirdzik is second with two goals and four points. Blake Brown has started eight of nine games for his squad in goal and posts a 1.61 goals against average.
Sideline Shakeup —
In the spring, top assistant Chad Riley was promoted and named the 10th head coach of the Big Green men’s soccer program. Assistant Chase Wileman was promoted and the team added Ryan Fahey to the staff.
Looking Forward —
Dartmouth will remain on the road for two more games against Penn next Saturday and then Colgate on Oct. 22.
