SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – On the third stop of its California spring trip, the Dartmouth women’s tennis team dropped a hard fought match to San Diego State, 5-2, at the Aztec Tennis Center on Friday evening.

The Big Green (7-3) suffered their second loss of the road trip, while the Aztecs (9-4) won their second straight.

In doubles action, Dartmouth took just one of the three matches as Katherine Yau and Akiko Okuda topped Laura Antonana Iriarte and Michela Casanova, 8-1. The duo have now won back-to-back matches at No. 1.

In singles action, the Aztecs pulled away taking four of the six matches to seal the victory. Janet Liu and Melissa Matsuoka won their matches for the Big Green at the No. 2 and No. 5 spots, respectively. Matsuoka took her match in straight sets, while Liu won after her opponent retired before the start of the second set.
