NEW YORK, N.Y. - Columbia scored six points in the final minutes and held the Dartmouth women's basketball team scoreless as the host Lions picked up a 48-39 win over the Big Green in the season finale for both teams on Saturday night.

Junior Nicola Zimmer (Chevy Chase, Md.) scored a layup with 2:33 left on the clock, but that would be the last points for the Big Green in the loss.

Dartmouth (6-22, 4-10 Ivy League) struggled to get anything going all night, shooting just 26.2 percent (16-of-61), but the rebounding numbers were good as, the Big Green outrebounded Columbia, 45-38. Lakin Roland (Jeffersonville, Ind.) led the offense with nine points while Tia Dawson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) had a game-high 12 rebounds.

Roland came out of the break on fire, scoring Dartmouth's first six points as the Big Green extended their lead to 31-24 with just two minutes off the clock forcing the Lions to call a timeout.

Columbia (5-22, 3-9 Ivy League) wouldn't go away and clawed their way back in and with seven unanswered tied the game at 31-31. An up and under move from Courtney Bradford gave the Lions their first lead, 33-31, at the 11:49 mark.

The Lions held Dartmouth without a bucket for nearly 12 minutes and extended their lead to six points, 36-31, at the 7:16 mark before the Big Green and Lions went toe-to-toe over the final five minutes.

After a slow start from both teams, it was the Big Green that heated up first and jumped out to a 12-4 early lead, behind some excellent defense. Dartmouth was able to hold the Lions without a field goal for over five minutes and grabbed 25 first-half rebounds while holding the host Lions to just 14 boards.

With Dartmouth leading 19-8, the Lions used a 10-0 run, highlighted by a triple from Miwa Tachibana, to cut the Big Green lead to just one point, 19-18, but the Big Green wouldn't relinquish the lead, closing the half with a 9-2 run to take a 25-21 lead into the break.

Kasey Crockett (Southfield, Mich.) was key for Dartmouth off the bench in the first half. She did all of the intangibles and tallied two points, two assists and a block while using her speed to get up and down the court to play tight defense.

Dartmouth closes the 2012-13 season with a 6-22 record, 4-10 Ivy League record.
