The Dartmouth College swimming and diving teams continue their stretch of home events with a non-conference dual meet against Big East foe, UConn, on Saturday (Feb. 2) Competition begins at 12 p.m. at Dartmouth's Karl Michael Pool.

Big Green Dominate Dartmouth Invitational -
The Big Green swimming and diving teams swept the competition at the third annual Dartmouth Invitational. The Big Green, who have swept the event the last two seasons, posted event titles in 19 events and set seven new Upper Valley Aquatic Center pool records.

Records Continue to Fall For the Big Green - It seems like every time Dartmouth jumps in the pool new pool or school records are broken and the Dartmouth Invitational was no different. The Big Green set seven new pool records, marking the second consecutive meet the Big Green have set new records as the women set a new pool record at New Hampshire in the 200 free. 

Dartmouth Closes out Non-Conference Slate - Saturday's meet against UConn marks the final non-conference dual meet for the Big Green this season. The Big Green took on Rider, Navy and New Hampshire at the Brown Invitational while facing UMass, Northeastern, Boston College, Maine, Connecticut College, Boston University and Vermont at the Dartmouth Invitational. The Big Green men are 11-3 in dual meet action this season and the women are 10-5.

Home Sweet Karl Michael Pool - Dartmouth will FINALLY swim at its home pool with Saturday's dual against Connecticut. It will be just the second meet at Karl Michael Pool this season as the women hosted Vermont back on Nov. 28. The Big Green closes the regular-season against Columbia on Feb. 10.

Shelley With Solid Weekend on the Boards - Sophomore Ryan Shelley (Sudbury, Mass.) swept the 1-meter and 3-meter boards last weekend. He posted a 284.80 on the 3-meter and 1-meter to claim both titles. Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) paced the women with a fourth-place finish on the 3-meter (254.70) and 1-meter (236.90).

Gillis Books Ticket To NCAA Zone Meet - Freshman diver, Brett Gillis (Kitchner, Ontario, Canada), had a solid outing against Penn and Yale.  The rookie claimed the 1-meter title with a score of 298.8 and was second on the 3-meter. His scores qualified him for the NCAA Zone Meet in March.

Scouting UConn - The Big Green will be taking on the Huskies for the second consecutive season on Saturday. The UConn men defeated Seton Hall, 188-108, in their last outing on Sunday (Jan. 27) and pushed their dual meet record to 3-2 on the season. The UConn women sport a 4-1 dual meet record after also defeating Seton Hall, 166-108, on Saturday. Prior to last season's meeting, it was the first time the teams have squared off since the early 70s. For the women, last season's meeting was the first in program history.

Ivy League Championships on Tap - The Big Green are just about a month away from the 2013 Ivy League Championships. The women are up first and will travel to Princeton for the meet Feb. 28-Mar. 2 and the men's event will be held at Mar. 7-9 by Brown in Providence, R.I. Both teams are looking to improve on fifth-place finishes from a year ago. The men's fifth-place finish was the highest in program history.

Welcome Aboard!  - The swimming and diving programs welcome a total of 20 freshmen to the men's and women's swimming and diving teams for 2012-13. The freshmen feature four internationals and talent from across the U.S. Joining the men's team are 10 new faces in Aaron Athanas (Beverly, Mass.), Logan Briggs (Issaquah, Wash.), Daniel Chen (Lake Oswego, Ore.), Brett Gillis (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada), Matthew Ginsberg (Scarsdale, N.Y.), Joseph Kind (San Francisco, Calif.), Jake Lee (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.), Jun Oh (Andover, Mass.), James Verhagen (Randberg, South Africa) and Daniel Whitcomb (Winnetka, Ill.). On the women's side there will also be 10 new faces in: Laura Hayes (Reno, Nev.), Emily Holt (Louisville, Ky.), Charlotte Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.), Laura McCulloch (Durban, South Africa), Kendese Nangle (Kingston, Jamaica), Katie Papa (Califon, N.J.), Olivia Samson (Clifton Park, N.Y.), Koryn Ternes (Austin, Texas), Maddie Wall (St. Louis, Mo.) and Briana Williams (Cypress, Texas). Welcome to the squad!

Freshman Diver Gillis Attends Canadian Olympic Trials - Freshman diver Brett Gillis (Kitchner, Ontario, Canada) spent part of his spring trying to make the 2012 Canadian Olympic team. The freshman took 16th on the 10-meter board.

Henn and Guardalabene Named Captains of the Women's Squad - Senior Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.) and junior Erin Henn (Lawrenceville, N.J.) will serve as team captains for the women's team for the 2012-13 season.

Derdeyn and Doherty to Captain Men's Team - Seniors Will Derdeyn (St. Louis, Mo.) and Zack Doherty (Pelham, N.Y.) will serve as co-captains for the men's team this season.

Lannan Joins Squad as Assistant Coach - Ross Lannan begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Big Green. Lannan comes to Hanover after spending two seasons in the same capacity at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. Welcome aboard Coach Lannan!

Wilson Returns for 20th Season- Head Coach Jim Wilson is in his 20th season as head coach of the Dartmouth swimming and diving squads. Wilson, originally hired to coach the Dartmouth men, took over the women's team in 2006. Wilson also returns assistant coach Jenn Verser while Chris Hamilton returns as Dartmouth's diving coach. Ross Lannan begins his first season as an assistant coach.
