POTSDAM, N.Y. - The Dartmouth women's hockey team dropped its second straight, falling 5-0 at No. 7 Clarkson inside Cheel Arena in ECAC Hockey play Saturday afternoon.

The Big Green were shutout for just the second time this season in conference action, while the Golden Knights won their second consecutive home tilt.

The Green and White fall to 12-7-3 overall and 7-6-2 in league games, while Clarkson improves to 20-6-0 and 12-2-0 in the ECAC.

Dartmouth was swept on a road weekend in conference play for the first time since Jan. 8-9, 2010 at Quinnipiac and Princeton.

The struggles against ranked opponents continued for the team from the Upper Valley as they are now 0-4-1 when squaring off with top-ten programs this season. The squad picked up their lone point at home on Nov. 2 against Boston College.

Clarkson came out of the gates quickly, scoring just over two minutes into play as Vanessa Gagnon tallied her fourth marker of the season. The Golden Knights added another goal later in the first and never looked back.

Dartmouth had its chances as Clarkson committed a season-high 10 penalties. The Big Green were unable to capitalize going zero-for-10 with the man-advantage. Over the last two games, the Green and White failed to score on the power play going a combined zero-for-18.

Goaltender Lindsay Holdcroft stopped 17-of-22 shots she faced, falling to 11-6-3 between the pipes.

The Big Green look to bounce back on Feb. 1, when they host ECAC Hockey and Ivy League foe Harvard. The match-up will be broadcast on Fox College Sports. Puck-drop is set for 7:05 p.m. inside Thompson Arena.
