Dartmouth got within five of its opponent following kills by Carey and Lindquist (16-11), but Cal pulled away to end the first set (25-14).
For the second set in a row, the Big Green started off with the upper hand and, although the Bears made it 6-1 soon after, the visitors chipped away at the lead to get within three (9-6) following four Cal errors and kills by Lindquist and Bischoff.
