HANOVER, N.H. – In the first day of the College Squash Association Individual Championship, four members of the Dartmouth men’s squash team competed in the post season tournament held at the Berry Squash Courts.
In the Molloy Division, Carson Spahr defeated Harvard’s Alexi Gosset 3-0. He advances to the quarterfinal where he will face Navy’s Jack Herold tomorrow.
The Big Green’s other victory on the first day of competition came from Sam Epley, who defeated George Washington’s Andres De Frutos, 3-2. Epley will face Yale’s Spencer Lovejoy in the quarterfinals.
Other Dartmouth players who saw action were Brandon De Otaduy, who fell to Penn’s David Yacobucci in straight games and Alvin Heumann who dropped a close 3-2 match to St Lawrence’s Mohamed El Gawarhy. Heumann was the only member of the Big Green to compete in the Pool Division, which if for the top 16 seeds in the country.
Dartmouth returns to action for Day Two of the CSA Individual Championship tomorrow at 8 a.m.
