Before Dartmouth: The Boston College High graduate played a season and a half in the USHL between the Omaha Lancers and the Des Moines Buccaneers. Nearly a third of the way into this past season, he was traded to Odessa (NAHL), where he joined fellow incoming freshman Dean Shatzer, and played an important role in the Jackalopes earning a trip to the NAHL's postseason. After two seasons of high school hockey, Ben made the move to play AAA fulltime for the Boston Advantage in the T1EHL. In his first year with the U16 team the 6-foot-2 defenseman dressed for almost 40 games, registering 17 points. He was selected by the Massachusetts District to participate in a 2010 USA Hockey Select Festival.
Personal: Ben is the son of Steve and Genile DiMaio and has one brother and a sister...Enjoys golfing and fishing...At Dartmouth, he plans to study mathematics for a career in business.
