TAMPA, Fla. – The Dartmouth College women’s swimming team finished first with 534 points at the University of Tampa Relay Carnival on Saturday. The Big Green finished first in eight of the ten events to claim the title.

The Big Green opened up the carnival with a win in the 800-free. Sasha Alcon, Christine Kerr, Danielle Kerr and Charlotte Kamai finished the race almost eight seconds ahead of Tampa in 7:48:07.

The Kerr sisters and Emily Holt won the 3x100-Fly in 3:02.02, to give the Big Green their second victory of the carnival. Continuing the streak of first place finishes, Dartmouth won the 3x100-Breast in 3:32.10. The threesome of Heather Laedtke, Maddie Dunn and Koryn Ternes defeated Minnesota State Moorhead by three seconds.

In the 3x100-Back, The Big Green won their fourth race with Kendese Nangle, Valerie Orellana and Holt in 3:05.68.  The ‘B’ squad finished in third with Natalia Vecerek, Rebecca Butler and Lindsay Tyler finishing in 3:09.01.

The 500-Free Crescendo relay was another top-notch performance for the Green and White, as Mary Van Metre, Amy Sun, Alcon and Kerr finished in 4:42.03. The win was six seconds better than host Tampa.

In the next event, Dartmouth finished in second behind Bowling Green, who finished second overall in the meet.

The Big Green bounced back in the 8x50, picking up a two second win over the Falcons.  In the 3x166 yard SNARF relay, the Big Green trio of Kerr, Kerr and Samson won in 5:28.28.

The squad finished the competition with another win in the 400-Free in 3:38.26.

The Big Green will travel down to New Haven, Conn. for an Ivy League meet with Penn and host Yale next Saturday.
