Big Green End Spring Trip with Win Against East Tennessee State

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Dartmouth men’s tennis team wrapped up its spring break road trip with a 4-3 victory against nationally ranked East Tennessee State at the newly built ETSU Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Big Green (8-8) end the six-stop swing with a 4-2 mark and return to Hanover riding a two match winning streak, while the Buccaneers (5-6) dropped their second contest in as many days.

After the two squads split the singles action, the match was decided in doubles play as the Green and White took two of the three matches to earn the hard fought victory.

In singles action,  ETSU took the top three matches, while the Big Green took the final three, earning points at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Erik Nordahl, Brandon DeBot and Brendan Tannenbaum each won their matches in straight sets for Dartmouth.

In doubles action, the team from the Upper Valley won at No. 2 and No. 3 to seal the win. Cameron Ghorbani and Chris Kipouras won their match, 8-6, at No. 2 and Alex de Chatellus and Tannenbaum capped the victory with a thrilling 9-7 triumph against Jorge Varon and Juan Ramirez.

The Big Green have a two week layoff before returning to the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion to host Ivy League foe Cornell on April 6 at 2 p.m.
