Before Dartmouth: Beard played his high school career at St. Mary's in Annapolis, Md. before attending Deerfield Academy for one year after high school... played soccer and lacrosse during his high school and prep career... was named the captain of the lacrosse team at St. Mary's his senior season... In 2011, he was part of an undefeated team that won the Vail Tournament Championship... As a sophomore he was named to the Under Armour Baltimore Underclassmen Team... he was all-county his senior season at St. Mary's.
