Before Dartmouth: King was a four year letter winner in cross country and a captain his junior and senior year at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, Wash. He also lettered three years in track and field. He was 1st team all-state in cross country his senior year and 1st team All-SPSL (South Puget Sound League). His junior year he finished 1st in the Westside Classic and received the Tacoma Athletic Club Athlete of the month. Outside of athletics Curtis was involved in the Knowledge Bowl, "We The People", and DECA which is a marketing, management, and entrepreneurship organization. 

Personal: Curtis is the son of Anthony King and Linda Hawthorne-King and has two brothers. In his free time, he enjoys writing and investing. At Dartmouth he studies government in hopes of a career in law.
