ALBANY, N.Y. - The 2012-13 ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll was announced Monday morning prior to the league's annual teleconference. After advancing to the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals last season, Dartmouth was selected to finish fifth in the League this year.

"We're very much looking forward to the start of the season," said tenth-year head coach Mark Hudak. "I'm excited about the team we have this year and look forward to some hard fought battles throughout the year. I think this will be another season of great hockey within our league."

Last year's tournament champion Cornell garnered nine first-place votes to earn the top spot in the coaches' poll for the third straight season, while Harvard received three first-place votes and finished second. St. Lawrence and Clarkson were third and fourth, respectively, as the other two teams selected ahead of Dartmouth.

The Big Green were followed by Quinnipiac, Princeton, Rensselaer, Brown, Colgate, Union and Yale, rounding out the poll.

With an 18-10-2 overall record and a 14-6-2 ECAC Hockey mark in 2011-12, Dartmouth finished fourth in the conference. The Big Green faced eventual NCAA Tournament participant St. Lawrence in the opening round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament, seeing their season come to an end with a pair of home losses to the Saints.
