Junior (2014-15): Against Yale and Penn, he finished in second place on the 1-meter board (292.45) and took first on 3-meter (344.85) … placed third on 1-meter (268.20) and first on the 3-meter diving board (336.15) at the Dartmouth Invitational … at the Ivy League Championship, he finished in 11th place on 1-meter (270.80) and was fourth on 3-meter (315.90) … for the third year in a row, he competed at the NCAA Zone A Regional Championship, taking 23rd in the preliminary round on the 1-meter board (259.05) and 17th on 3-meter (610.90).
Sophomore (2013-14): Against Harvard and Cornell, he was third on 1-meter (297.55) and sixth on the 3-meter board (272.50) … finished first on 1-meter (343.60) and third on 3-meter (321.25) at the Big Al Invitational … at the Dartmouth Invitational, he finished third (275.40) on 1-meter and was first on 3-meter (326.30) … broke a 34-year old school record with his score of 377.55 on 3-meter against Columbia …at the Ivy League Championships, he was second on 1-meter (361.15), breaking the Dartmouth school record of 358.70 set by Mike Brown that had held since 1970 … also finished in fifth on the 3-meter board (323.00) … he wrapped up his season at the NCAA Zone A Regional Championship, coming in eighth place on both 1-meter (605.55) and 3-meter (655.50).
Freshman (2012-13): At the Brown Invitational, he finished sixth on the 1-meter board (276.75) and fourth on 3-meter (318.70) … was second on 1-meter (287.92) and finished first on the 3-meter board (311.70) … at the Ivy League Championships, he placed fourth on the 1-meter diving board (331.25) and ninth on 3-meter (338.70) … at the NCAA Zone A meet, he finished, 27th on 1-meter (253.60), 19th on 3-meter (288.05) and 10th on platform (561.45).
Before Dartmouth: Member of the Canadian Junior National diving team … qualified for the 2012 Canadian Olympic Trials, finishing 16th on 10-meter … three-time synchronized diving national finalist … competed as a National Men's "A" diver in 2010-11 and 2011-12 … won a silver at the Ottawa Diving Invitational on the platform and a bronze at the Ontario Provincial Championships.
Personal: Son of Neil Gillis … has three sisters … cousin, Carly Bunyan, ran track at Dartmouth … father, Neil, played rugby and wrestled at St. Francis Xavier University (1985-89) … cousin, Duncan Gillis, was a silver medalist in the hammer throw, the first flag bearer for Canada in the 1912 Olympics and also wrestled in the 1920 Olympics.
