2014-15 (Junior): Appeared in 29 games over the course of the season, proving to be one of the team’s top defensemen…Finished with four assists…Was second on the team in blocked shots with 42…Posted a +5 rating…Had helpers against Sacred Heart (Dec. 14), Boston College (Jan. 3), Vermont (Jan. 11) and RP (Jan. 30)… His assist against Rensselaer came on the GWG as his point shot was redirected by Troy Crema…Dartmouth was 2-2-0 in games when Ferguson had a point.
2013-14 (Sophomore): Played in 30 games…Missed the entire RPI postseason series with an injury, but was able to return to the lineup for both games of the quarterfinal series at Union…Posted two goals and seven assists for nine points…Picked up his first career goal at home against Northeastern on Dec. 30 as part of the Ledyard Classic…Led all Dartmouth players with 72 blocked shots and 2.40 blocks per game…Scored his other goal at Rensselaer on Jan. 24…Put together two points streaks of three games…Called for 10 minor penalties over the course of the year for 20 PIMs…Finished the season even in +/-…Was a +3 with one assist in a 6-1 win at Clarkson on Feb. 15…Dartmouth was 0-1-1 when he scored a goal and 2-5-2 when picking up a point.
2012-13 (Freshman): Was the lone member of the freshman class to suit up in all 34 of the team’s games during the season…Did not score a goal, but was credited with five assists…Earned his first collegiate point with an assist on Matt Lindblad’s game-winning goal 2:21 into the third period against Bentley at home on Dec. 1… Picked up a helper on the final goal of the game to seal the 4-1 win over then-No. 2 New Hampshire at a sold out Thompson Arena on Dec. 30 in the first game of the 2012 Ledyard Classic…Set up Tim O’Brien late in the third period with the tying goal that forced overtime against then-No. 5 and eventual national runner-up Quinnipiac on Jan. 4 in a game seen live on NESN…Posted his only point streak of the season as he had assists in consecutive home games against Cornell (Feb. 15) and Colgate (Feb. 16).
Before Dartmouth: Spent the 2011-12 season with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League, playing 60 games...He recorded one goal and 13 assists his lone season in the USHL...In that one season, he also finished with 74 PIMs and a career-best +13 rating...Prior to his stint with the Musketeers, he played one season in the NAHL, splitting time between the Aberdeen Wings (18 games) and Wenatchee Wild (32 games).
Personal: Son of Michael and Georgina Ferguson...Has one brother...His father Michael is the Auditor General of Canada...Plans on a career in business and is studying economics at Dartmouth...Played with the prestigious hockey program (Sidney Crosby, Zach Parise, Jonathan Toews) as he attended Shattuck St. Mary's in Faribault, Minn., from 2006-10.
