HANOVER, N.H.- Action at the 2012 ITA Summer Circuit event at Dartmouth wrapped up on Monday (July 16) at the Big Green's Boss Tennis Center. Dartmouth players Akiko Okuda (Tenafly, N.J.) claimed the women's singles and teamed with Christina Danosi (New Albany, Ohio) to win the doubles competition.

Okudo, the top seed in the event, went through the draw unscathed and clinched the title with a 6-1, 6-7(6), 12-10 tiebreaker win over Ivy League foe, Sarah Kandath from Brown.

Danosi, the seventh-seeded player in the draw, also represented the Big Green in singles competition. After an opening round bye, Danosi defeated Ciara Williams from Johns Hopkins, 6-2, 6-0, before bowing out in the next round to Kathleen Elkins from Williams, 6-3, 7-5.

The Dartmouth duo paired for the doubles competition and took the crown with an 8-3 win over the pair of Rebecca Curran and Maria Plypiv from Williams.

On the men's side, Brandon DeBot (Stevens Point, Wis.) represented the Big Green. DeBot, the No. 3 seeded-player advanced to the third round with a straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, win over David Ro. DeBot was bested 6-3, 6-3 in the third round.

College of Charleston's Charlie Ghriskey claimed the men's title with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Brown's Mike Hill.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) hosts several events in each of eight regions from across the nation throughout the month of July. Dartmouth's tournament is the second of four scheduled to take place in the Northeast.

The USTA/ITA National Summer Championships take place Aug. 10-14 at Indiana.
