Junior (2014-15): Ivy League Player of the Year … All-Ivy First Team (singles and doubles) … Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete … ITA All-Academic … was ranked as high as No. 52 in the nation … at the No. 1 singles position, he went 17-6 and defeated five ranked opponents … he and Chris Kipouras played at No. 1 doubles and were ranked as high as 18th in the nation … the duo went undefeated through seven matches to start the spring and ended the year with a record of 12-4 … first Dartmouth men’s tennis player to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship since 1994, falling to Wichita State’s Tin Ostojic in the first round.
Sophomore (2013-14): Capped off his first year on the court by becoming the program’s first Ivy League Rookie of the Year… All-Ivy First Team (singles) … finished his sophomore season with a record of 13-6 in singles and 13-8 in doubles … played in the top spot for each of his singles matches and the No. 2 position in doubles … was 4-1 in Ivy action … had four consecutive wins against Penn, Princeton, Yale and Harvard … paired with Brandon DeBot, he had a nine-match winning streak … the duo went 2-4 in league action after defeating Cornell and Yale.
Freshman (2012-13): Did not compete during his first year on campus.
Before Dartmouth: Sakinis has represented Lithuania in Davis Cup competition six times in singles and four times in doubles ... had a career-best ATP world ranking of 808 in the world in singles ... as a junior player, he reached an ITF world ranking of 73 ... Sakinis was the top player in Lithuania throughout his junior career ... in the US F20 Futures in Aug. 2010, Sakinis beat Tennessee All-American Tennys Sandgren 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 ... in Aug. 2011, Sakinis beat Orange Bowl quarter finalist Martin Podzus 7-6, 7-5 at the Latvia F1 futures.
