PRINCETON, N.J. - The Dartmouth women's outdoor track & field team finished its two-day weekend at Princeton's Sam Howell Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The meet was held at William Weever Stadium.
Sophomore Megan Krumpoch (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had a good day of competition, taking fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.00) and running the anchor in the Big Green's sixth-place 4x400-meter relay team. The foursome of Meggie Donovan (Auborn, N.H.), Katrina Cord (Pacific Palisades, Calif.), Caroline Buck (Winter Park, Fla.) and Krumpoch combined to run a 3:55.71.
Fresh off a good showing Friday night in the discus, senior Christina Alexander (Austin, Texas) won the shot put Saturday with a throw of 42-4.75/12.92m on her third attempt of the afternoon.
In the triple jump, junior Cara Vernacchia (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) took fourth with a distance of 35-10.50/10.93m. Senior Megan Faeth (Katonah, N.Y.) also claimed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 24-6.0/37.95m.
The Big Green are next scheduled to take to the track next Thursday with the 54th Annual Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., at historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium The meet is set to get underway Thursday and continue through Saturday. The team is also set to host Vermont and Middlebury on Saturday in Hanover.
