Q&A with Annie Gardner

Why Dartmouth?

It had everything I was looking for. Lots of opportunity for small classes and one on one interactions with professors, an enormous library I could see myself studying in, a rowing team, and a student body I felt like I wanted to be a part of.

How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?

I started rowing my freshman year in highschool because I had already figured out I was bad at lacrosse and running and thought rowing sounded fun. I kept rowing because I love being forced to be outside every day and found that the structure and physical challenge helps me balance all the other parts of life.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?

I'm part of a sporadically meeting writing group and a proud member of Sigma Delta Sorority.

What are your future plans, if any?

I'm trying to figure that out now. I'm an English major and I love what I'm studying - luckily lots of jobs include some sort of reading or writing. Hopefully wherever I end up, it is next to a river where I can row!
