BOSTON – The Dartmouth men’s track & field program kicked off the 2017-18 campaign Saturday at the BU Season Opener.

Held inside the BU Track & Tennis Center, the non-scoring meet featured several of New England’s top teams kicking off their winter seasons. 

The 200m saw a pair of Big Green runners finish in the top six with Adam Couitt (22.07) and Donovan Spearman (22.20) taking fourth and sixth, respectively. Additionally, Spearman was second in the preliminaries of the 60m, winning his heat in 6.92, but false started in the final. 

Myles Holt (50.39) was sixth in the 400m, while Michael Thurston (1:22.00) claimed seventh in the 600m. Thurston was also 10th in the high jump, clearing 5-10.75/1.80m. 

The pole vault saw Benjamin Ose tie for fifth as he cleared 15-1.00/4.60m on his first try before stalling at the next height.

On the infield, Ethan Ruh was 11th in the weight throw with a toss of 38-8.75/11.80m.

Dartmouth will compete again this weekend, hosting New Hampshire and Maine on Friday (multis events) and Saturday inside Leverone Field House.
