BOSTON — The Dartmouth men’s cross country team ran to a fifth-place finish Saturday afternoon at the 2017 New England Championship Saturday afternoon.

Running on the 8K course at Franklin Park, the Big Green posted 192 points.

Senior Will Shafer ran an outstanding race, crossing third overall in 25:26.95 and claiming All-New England honors in the process.

Freshman Owen Ritz (26:03.15) and sophomore Marco Pompilj (26:05.19) were the next two Dartmouth runners to finish, doing so in 33rd and 35th, respectively. First-year harriers Nick Feffer was 45th overall in 26.15.81.

The final scoring runner for the Green and White was junior Reed Horton who crossed in 26.46.86 and in 76th place.
